Who makes the Rooney heads?

How do these heads compare to the new Muhle R89/EJ DE89 type heads? They look the same in the photo, but I'm sure the subtle details are not the same.

I have not used a Parker made razor but i think it is usually considered to be bit on the aggressive side.

Too bad. As a newbie to DE wet shaving I thought bigger brushes were better and more aggressive razors were better. I was wrong. I found a mild Tech to be much better suited for me than a Merkur HD and I also enjoy an EJ DE89L which I understand is also on the milder side (probably why I like it so much). I was hoping that this head would be the same Muhle R89 head as I like the faux horn Rooney handle.

I also wonder whether that Rooney razor handle would fit on the EJ DE89L (Muhle R89) head. I think I read somewhere that the screw thread is different on these Muhle heads so standard handles don't work. Not sure if it's true. But then again, paying $70 just for the handle, I'm not sure it's worth it.

Just wait a couple months for your technique to mature. I think you'll find that what you consider aggressive now may be just right later on. I don't have any experience with the Parker or any other non-Gillette razor (except for a Merkur HD I used once and found it mild). But the first time I used an Old Type I suffered razor burn for a week. I now get my best shaves ever with an Old Type. I would not buy a razor just to match a brush but I do have both the real horn Rooney in Heritage and the faux horn in two band finest and find both brushes to be fantastic performers.

I hear the new EJ and Muhle threads may be slightly bigger than the standard which Parker uses.

As has been discussed numerous times, the EJ/Muhle heads are not the same as the Parker heads. EJ actually slightly revised the design of the new head recently to make it easier to clean and avoid confusion with the Parker head. More than one poster has indicated that the blade gap is not the same on both sides of the Parker, which indicates sub-par workmanship to me. For that reason, I will probably never buy a Parker razor.

Btw, if you really want a specific type of handle for your EJ/Muhle head, you might want to contact "cooncatbob" of "bob's razor works". He makes custom razor handles and can probably make the kind of handle you want.

There is no comparison between the workmanship of the EJ/Muhle head and the Parker head. The EJ/Muhle head is a thing of beauty. I purchased a Parker 3 piece razor and the quality control just isn't there. Radical difference in the blade gap between one side and the other. Also a visible difference in blade gap within a side from left to right.
