I've been saying lately that the bar handled new is one of the best looking 3 piece razors, and that it just gets better when the plating is gone.

It does look quite nice in copper.
Unfortunately unplated copper and brass quickly tarnishes especially when exposed to moisture.

I recently made an inquire about this model. I hope that it will still be available for my birthday (only in June
). Anyway, this mean I have time to convince my wife that this is an extraordinary investment.
The copper is beautiful. But I also love antique brass - back when it had a higher copper content than new brass does. It has a warmer, more beautiful color.
For my money you can't beat the beauty of this razor in gold. 
Sadly, we don't see very many perfect examples due to the very thin gold wash that Gillette used on them.
In my eye, the copper looks "unfinished" (duh?) and raw . . . but even at its cosmetic worst, the New provides a remarkable shave!
