Which shave is the best using your favorite razor blade?

Do you get a better shave the first time, second time, third time or fourth time you use your favorite razor blade? Or is each shave equally good?

Why is it that the first shave is not as good as the 2nd???

Usually the second is best.

For me, with Crystal, Weber PH...first is best. EJ 89, Feather, second was best.

Generally for me the 2nd is the best. Not sure why. Maybe any microscopic burrs are worn off the surface of the cutting edge? I have no clue and I'm sure there are some here who actually know.
