Which Hazel Question

After doing all my shave passes I rinse with hot water, apply witch hazel, apply cold water, and the put an ASB on.

My question: Do you dry your face before putting witch hazel on or keep it wet?

I am presuming wet which I been doing, but thought I ask to get some opinions.

Here is my routine after my last pass:

Rinse the excess lather off my fact with luke warm water
Cold water rinse
Alum block with cold water
2nd cold water rinse
Pat face dry with towel
Apply witch hazel
Allow witch hazel to air dry while I clean up my shaving gear and sink
Apply aftershave

I go, warm water rinse with my touch-up

Cold water splash
Pat face dry
Apply WH with a cotton ball to check my shave
Wait for it to dry
Apply AS

+1 - Almost the same for me.

Rinse the excess lather off my fact with cool water
Pat face dry with towel
Apply witch hazel
Clean up my shaving gear and sink
Apply Lilac Vegetal

I pat my legs dry and apply witch hazel. Know legs are not as sensitive as faces but thought I would throw my 2 cents in there. Allow to air dry then apply my lotion.

Lately, I've been splashing on some Thayer's Lavender WH after I do my pre-shave prep, but BEFORE I put on any lather.

I rub it well into my bear, and also use it on the rest of my face, up to the forehead, around the back of the neck, and behind the ears.

OMG, does it feel good ... and doing it BEFORE the lather tones up your skin just right for the razor to do its thing.

After the shave, I rinse with warm water, and re-apply more Thayer's to open pores. Allow it to air-dry. Sometimes, a second-coat. Then, I put on ASL and ASB and I'm ready.

I am going to try this out. Before I came to the forums, I had never heard of Witch Hazel. I have been using the Dickinsons and have been very impressed with it.

I use it when my face is slightly damp after a cold water rinse and apply with a cotton ball.

+1, that's my process too

I first cold water rinse, pat dry not very thoroughly, then splash witch hazel with my hands, allow to air dry, then apply ASB

Post shave:
Warm water rinse
Cold water rinse
Pat dry
WH splash on
Let evaporate...clean den...walk around bathroom looking at grout...
Apply Nivea ASB
Done!
