Which DE blade made today has been in production the longest?

I read from another thread someone here has been using the Astra SP's since the early 1980's. That got me wondering, out of all the blades still made today, which one has been in production the longest?

You may need to refine your question a little. Do you mean as a distinct brand? Does significant changes to coatings, honing or anything matter?

I was thinking mainly as a distinct brand. I guess the packaging, manufacturing process, the plant they're made in etc. can change over time anyway (?).

I'm not sure but I suppose the longetivity of a brand also tells of its popularity?

I'm also guessing the all-time longest in production was the Gillette Blue?

I think Gillette branded blades have been around since the introduction of the Gillette safety razor, even though they have been produced in widely different locations of different materials and to different standards.

In a perfect wet shaving world, there will always be an option to buy a blade that has King Gillette's picture on the wrapper....

Gillette Super Thin?

I was thinking that or the Gillette Bleue (Extra). I think the Super Thins win because the Bleue Extra should be considered distinct from Blue proper. On second, thought, Bleue Extra should not be related to Blue at all.

When did Wilkinson start making DE Blades? Was that in the 1960's or earlier?

I'd be curious to know how long the Merkur blades have been in production, along with the other blades manufactured around Solingen?

India has a range of blades which are well over 35+ years old. The Super-Max range from the Vidyut family of products as well as Malhotra product range is something I used to see as a child. When I first started shaving I used the Topaz blade in a Gillette Click razor. Even at that time the blade was 15+ years old. Specifically the Topaz wrapping, branding and everything else is the same. I college we used the Topaz blade for the cross section of botany specimens as it was a "Sharp" blade making cross sections easier !!

I always keep a pack of Topaz for nostalgia. Its good for a shave and a half !

Gillette India still makes the Trac II handles and blades as does Super-Max.
