Going to a conference around the end of the month. Want to print some business cards to take but not sure where to send them to be printed. Anyone have recent experience? Thanks ahead for any insight.

VistaPrint is good for some generic backgrounds, and your first order is free (plus shipping)
If you want a specific style, custom artwork, or something that Vista does not offer, then a local PiP (Postal Instant Press), FedEx-Kinkos, Staples, OfficeMax, or Office Depot can kick out an order at a reasonable cost in a short time.

I used Vista Print years ago. I was happy with it. They have a number of options.

A good local print shop should have a quick turnaround time. I used to work for Minuteman Press, and we did a lot of small-run accounts.
Vistaprint offers custom work if you have the files already made to upload. I've been happy with my previous orders from them. Shipping is expensive, but I guess they have to make money on free right?
Fed-ex/Kinkos, or something local is your best bet if you 100% need to have them on time though, I don't even want to know how much Vistaprint charges for faster shipping....although my orders generally have shown up within a week despite them saying it could take 3 weeks or more for it to show up with their cheapest shipping method.

Vistaprint. I designed my own and was very happy. For 2000 cards, a metal case, and some sticky notes I paid about $20.
moo.com makes the most beautiful business cards I've ever seen. I designed the business card for my design firm and got them in their "Luxe" line. I've never handed one over and not gotten a compliment immediately thereafter.
You can go to any local print shop, just look it up in the yellow pages or google print shop and your town.

Thanks to everyone for the great ideas. I'm going to try to find a local print shop with a big chain being the backup, and maybe online last. Been reading the scary threads about Vistaprint and I'm not sure what to make of them.
Make sure you get them in a bone color with a sillian rail font.
or if you really wanna get fancy, a subtle off white color. Make sure it has a watermark.
