What's new

Where to go Paris?

I am in Paris for a few weeks, and am considering picking up a new pair of shoes; I am definitely picking up some Saphir renovateur and wax while I am here.
Which shoe stores would you visit while here? It has to a store where I can pick up a nice pair of shoes for maximum $400 (preferably much lower).

Thanks in advance guys.

If you want French shoes, Paraboots are fantastic. (http://www.paraboot.com/) They have a few shops in Paris. The BHV Homme also carries them.

Heschung (http://www.heschung.com/en/) also makes beautiful shoes.

Le Bon Marché has excellent deals on Church's during summer and winter sales.

Of course there is always Weston (another French brand) but I am afraid they are usually more than $400.

Yes, they are a great value. I wouldn't bother with their shirts or sweaters though.

This place makes some really nice suits for about 200 euros: http://www.mario-dessuti-costume-paris.fr/. I have owned one for four years and it has held up very nicely.

So many nice shops  the worst is I live in London so there is even more choice and variety. If only I was flush with cash...
Any comment on the quality of LodinG? Can't find much online.
Was in China a year ago so had two suits made there, but thank you.

Quality is excellent for the price. I think all of their shoes are €160. That's practically what a pair of Desert Boots or even Nike sneakers costs here. Loding doesn't advertise and they only sell through their own stores, which keeps prices down. The shoes are made in Portugal. It's just your basic dress shoe. Many of my colleagues get their shoes from Loding.

The reason I mentioned Mario Dessutti is because a Mario Dessutti suit + Loding shoes is basic business attire here in France for the "budget-conscious" professional.

By the way, despite the fancy names, both companies are French and were founded in the 1990s.

Edit: It turns out both companies were founded by the same person!

Well so far my one pair of nice shoes is a pair of Cheaney's. Will have a shop around this weekend and see what I find. Understand, well I am happy to spend a bit more on shoes as long as they last me the next decade  I like the look of the Meermin shoes (the ones from Mallorca that are half manufactured by hand in China) so I just contacted them to get some more info.

Thanks for all your help mate it is much appreciated. I am guessing I can find Saphir pretty much anywhere?
