Where to go next?

Hi folks,

My DE shaving experience is very limited(about 3 months) and so far i have tried derby, dorco ST301, Shark super chrome and shark super stainless. My favorites by far are the sharks which i find fairly comfortable, i can get 3 good shaves out of them with a 4th average shave if i push it. I am debating sticking with sharks or experimenting further with astra's(not sure which version i should try) feathers, merkurs or possibly personna platinum. I'm currently using a Merkur 42C.

Cheers.

Astra SP's are generally well liked. Try another sampler to broaden your experiences. In a few weeks, you may want to revisit some blades you didn't like at first. Sometimes blades get better after sitting on the shelf for awhile. :wink2:

After my initial batch of easy to find blades I moved to Astra SP, 7 o'clock Black, GSB, and Feathers. Still trying those ones out.

I would also recommend the Astra SPs. Any of the Gillette 7 o'clocks (green, yellow, black) would be a good pick up too.

I just used my first GSB from the 5 pack and loved it. If the next few shaves go great as well then GSB will make it into my "March Madness" razor showdown.

I'm really into my Russian blades at the moment, Astra SP's, Rapira's, Sputnik, Ladas - All giving great results. Of course you will need to try a Feather blade at some stage :)

I also would recommend Gillette Silver and Blues. Just finished with a blade that lasted 5 shaves. Which is excellent due to my tough whiskers. They are very sharp and they are my go to blade.

silver blue or polsilver si imo are my top 2 blades out there. i love the si's and the gsb is a very close second. im not a fan of astras but many are and they are cheap. just ordered up personna lab blue's to try out in all the blades i used i still have not tried these lol. only 12$ for 100 figured cant hurt. depends what you like. some are very sharp, some smooth, some a bit of both. i prefer much sharper blades but dont like feathers so its more of a what you decide you like best. imo try the gsb or the polsilver ir.
