Where did Mystic Water Soap go?

A little over a year ago all I ever read on this forum was about Mystic Water Soap and about how great it was. Some did have a problem finding the proper water/product ratio. Anyone still using it? It never appears in anyone's list of favorites.

I think a lot of people just enjoy experimenting with different soaps and there is a bunch of excellent artisan products to play around with right now. I've always enjoyed MW and just picked up a puck of Windjammer, still good stuff but I couldn't be exclusive to one product.

I really enjoy my Irish Traveller and Lemon Verbana. I also like trying different artisan soaps and have so many sticks and soaps at this point that I have trouble trying all of them.

Mystic Water is one of the best. I love Sandalwood Rose, Mysore Sandalwood, Sardinian Honey, and Wild Lavender, and I've been tempted to give her new Maple Syrup a try.

I'm happy to say I'm still here and making lots of soap. This weekend I'm doing a show in Baltimore and I've been talking to a lot of guys who are interested in switching to traditional shaving but who didn't know about the forum(s).

Still tout MW Bay Rum as my favorite soap whenever the topic comes up.

Finishing off a sample of something else, then on to 3017ing the rest of my Maestrale.

I am one of the sad few who couldn't lather it to save my life. If I ever get a puck again, I may try artillery. Or nuclear weapons.

I really like Michelle and wish I got more consistent results with her soap. Sometimes I got a good shave. Other times, the lather got too thin and bubbly by the second pass, and offered no protection at all by the third pass. This was odd, because I loaded roughly the same amount of soap and used the same amount of water every time. I ended up PIFing my Mystic Waters to another member, who loves it.

Lately, I've been thinking about getting another puck and trying it one more time.

Mystic Waters is a cornerstone in my den. Once dialed in it is a fantastic performer. The scents are really intriguing and complex but above all the performance is outstanding.

Since I am somewhat cautious about the coming Shave Apocalypse I keep a spare five pucks in the den at all times on top of the one I use at the moment. Michelle is most helpful in keeping this balance. :001_smile

Thanks for the update. Like most of the people on this forum, I have a few different brands of shaving software and at one point had MW on my short list of soaps to try. I am also very interested in your shampoo bar because I cannot use any of the commercially produced SLS type product.

Can you or anyone recommend a scent that is on the light side with only EO as FO give me an allergic reaction?

I have the Marrakesh and Roselimone. Truth be told they have been out of the rotation for a while. Mikes, Cade, Per Dr Provence, several varieties of Coats, etc have stepped in.
I was considering putting the Rosalimone on the BST. We'll see!

Michelle is one of the best and her soaps are in my top five. I love her Mysore sandalwood and sandalwood rose.

Having said that, over the past year I've seen a trend of soaps coming into favor until something else comes along. Lately Stirling soaps are the hot item. In a couple months there will be something else and we won't hear as much about Stirling. When I joined a year ago, all I heard about was Mike's.

Every couple of months a new "best soap in the world" comes out, and we tend not to talk about the last soap de jour as much.

First, you should by the shampoo bar today. Pick a scent and just do it. Best thing I ever did for my hair and scalp.

Second, she has an unscented puck, and she has several scents that are EO only. On the website she states specifically EO, FO, or combination. www.mystic4men.com

I have several brands of soaps, but MW is my daily driver. I'm working through a sample of Prospect Creek right now and have five full pucks on deck. TLOTH will be selecting which one I go with next.
