What's new

When is enough?

I think I need to take a buying/trading break and find out how to best use what I have:

Simpson Polo 8
Simpson Duke 2
Simpson vintage AS2M
Simpson Commodor x2 (on way)
Simpson Special (on way)
Kent BK4
2008 B&B Essential
2009 B&B LE
Vintage Fuller w TGN knot
Vintage Hardright w TGN knot
Vintage ER with TGN knot
Vintage Soie Pure w TGN knot (on way)

The vintage ones are for as much for show as go and lather well. All the ones I have are great brushes. I'm planning on using in a pseudo rotation with my mood and whim deciding when to use a particular brush.

You are aware aren't you that you're asking that question of a group of dedicated enablers? As in, I can't believe that's all the brushes you have. You need at least ____ more. Fill in the blank with a huge number so that you can get on with it man.

I have pretty much gotten to this point myself. :scared:

There are a couple of brushes on the way, but I'm pretty much set for awhile, otherwise. The most important thing, though....we need pics of the stable! The vintages alone demand it! :yesnod:

I've got a really good silvertip, an ever-ready restore I posted here and I just got a new Semogue 1305 I just got in the mail this weekend. I dont really see the need to buy any other brushes until one of these takes the big dirt nap.

If you were to sell the brushes you dont use that much off, it would at least be a car payment or something. I've sold off a majority of my stuff. All I have now are 2 DEs, 1 GEM, and 1 Schick Injector. My two Brushes and about 5 soaps are left as well. Sticking with this as my setup for a while until I use everything up. Then it will be fun again to try something new.

I reached my saturation point about 3 years ago and unloaded most of my brushes. I have 8 in rotation now. Silly isn't it?

It is silly but it is so much fun and when you find out how good it is with a good brush, and then see one on B/S/T and you can't believe the deal that you're going to get, it is hard to pass them by!

Here's what I have so far. The Commodore and Special are on the way and even though I don't have the brush from Rudy Vey he was kind enough to send a photo.

What is this "enough" that you speak of?:shaving::shaving:

Enough until I see the next brush I can't live without. The thing is that I had some brushes that I was glad I bought but they made good sale/trading material. Now, I don't have a single brush that I'm willing to let go.:thumbup::thumbup:

Enough???? never heard of that word.... can you explain it's meaning??? If you can't i'm sure Beginish can help

This past week I bought a Duke 3, Tulip t2, Commodore x2 and a Wee Scott. Thats just the brushes. I need some bank account camo so the wife doesnt kill me.

Oh I dunno. I have 8 in the bathroom cabinet or around the basin now, and besides giving me choices to go with products, it lets them dry out pretty thoroughly.

I've been conducting drying experiments with weights, humidity measurements - you'll see the results in a few more days. But if you don't live in a really dry environment and you think your brush is dry in 24 hours, you may be surprised. Really more like three days. So you see, you really need more brushes!

Your thinking of them in the wrong way. If you just modify your view of what they are, then all is well:

Nobody questions stamp collecting. Call 'em stamps. Collect stamps.

That is a really nice collection, Bob. "Enough" brushes is like the Supreme Court's definition of pornography, you know it when you see it.
