What's your pant size? Really....

Gents, I usually fluctuate between a 34 - 36 waist. I am down to a size 34 this summer. I know this is a correct size because my alterations lady measured my waist. I had to have some pants altered due to weight loss.

I was at Saks a week ago and tried on some Varvatos jeans. I tried their 34 but it was loose around the waist. I tried on a 32 and they fit. I have not worn size 32 since high school. How was this possible? I have always suspected that the clothing industry purposely mislabels their clothes as a way of promoting sales by making us feel better about ourselves.

Here is an interesting article from Esquire.

So...their expecting more money for XL sizes is just their supportive way of shaming us all into getting into better shape? Public benefactors. That's what they are.:tongue_sm

If I'm wearing my Wranglers then 34. If I'm wearing a relaxed pair of jeans like I prefer then it will usually be a 36.

36-38 in almost everything. At 6'2" & 225 I'm never gonna be an Ambercrombie model but I look good in a kilt so I got that going for me.

Usually 33 waist, 34 lenth. Althought, lately I've been trending a bit more to 32 and I'm having problems with 34 being too short. I'm certainly not growing taller, so my hunch is cheaper materials shrinking more in the wash.

I wear 38 in every pair of pants I have. I don't wear much formal stuff, just jeans and khakis. I have had 36s I could wear, but I prefer it to have a little room and I wear a belt all the time.

32 to 34 waist depending on cut, usually 32 to 33 length.

I have measured Levi's and find there is a BIG difference depending on the country of origin.

Levis made in Bangladesh seem to be up to two inches larger than marked in my size, so I wear a 32 in those.
