I picked up a beat-up old Puma in an antique store around here a year or two ago for pretty cheap, but never been able to get the edge up to how I like it. The last couple times I tried, I could hear a faint "tick" about halfway up the hone on the "away" stroke. Weird. Today, I decided I would try again, and it was quite loud. Here's a picture...see the crack?
me either.
Here, lemme zoom in for you...see it now?
me either. Let's just try a different angle...
Ah....there it is, but I know what I'm looking for. Last one. How about now?
yeah, that sux. It was fun owning a Puma, I just wish I'd looked closer when purchasing it, and wish I'd gotten a good shave out of it. I'll keep the scales, but even they have a crack (though very stable...never had a problem with that part). Maybe rescale a GD with them
Blade has had it's lifetime...hittin' the bin soon enough.
Moral: check over your antique store scores reeeeeally closely before buying.
