What's new

What's that dang ticking noise?

I picked up a beat-up old Puma in an antique store around here a year or two ago for pretty cheap, but never been able to get the edge up to how I like it. The last couple times I tried, I could hear a faint "tick" about halfway up the hone on the "away" stroke. Weird. Today, I decided I would try again, and it was quite loud. Here's a picture...see the crack?

Ah....there it is, but I know what I'm looking for. Last one. How about now?

yeah, that sux. It was fun owning a Puma, I just wish I'd looked closer when purchasing it, and wish I'd gotten a good shave out of it. I'll keep the scales, but even they have a crack (though very stable...never had a problem with that part). Maybe rescale a GD with them ;)

Blade has had it's lifetime...hittin' the bin soon enough.

Moral: check over your antique store scores reeeeeally closely before buying.

Bummer! Can you use those mystical skills of yours and make it a shorty?

Good idea, will give it a try at least! ;) brain had not got to that point, but I suppose it's a good candidate for some goofing around. Mmmm...french point shorty might be fun to try.

Ouch!!! That blows... At least it didn't cause you blood...

i bet a piece of duct tape would let it live for another couple of shaves though!!
