What would you do?

I really hate to post this as there are enough "what should I buy" threads here but I'm going to add to the stock pile anyway.

I have some cash sitting in my pay pal account and I wanna spend it before the end of the month as I have vowed that I shall buy nothing else shave related till after christmas.

I'm going to buy from Fendrihan and have just over $100 canadian I either want to:

Is that open comb razor a Merkur? If so, I'd definitely go with it and the cologne.

yep it's a merkur! I currently have an EJ89L as my only razor

I'd buy both razors. I like the look of the gold plated one and I have plenty of colognes! On the other hand you may not

I have more than enough colognes but fell in love with the astor when I received the sample from trumpers. (My girlfriend loves it too!) If I had more money I would probably go with the gold slant and the cologne but it's not in the cards right now.

The open comb is a Muhle. The head is one of the more aggressive ones on the market and a big difference from your EJ89L. You better have your technique down pat or you're going to end up with a lot of irritation.
The slant is also a different beast. The good thing is that if you don't like it you would have no trouble selling it on the BST. I'd be inclined to buy it in chrome. Not only is it cheaper, the plating will last longer.

Yep your right, my mistake. The only reason I would buy the gold over the chrome is because I do not have a gold razor yet and would love to have one especially a gold slant. I'm also kinda wanting to try a more aggressive razor so I'm not too scared of trying the muhle open comb.

That slant bar is really expensive! You can get it from BullGoose and save twenty bucks.

West Coast Shaving used to have it for a tiny bit cheaper than that, but their price went up.

Having two razors isn't really necessary but it is certainly nice. However, I would save up a little and get what you want rather than having to settle for less.

Go for it then. You'll certainly find out quickly if you like an aggressive razor. Astra SP's worked best for me when I had my Muhle.
If your GF really loves the Astor then the only decision to be made is which razor to buy with it.

Just to let you know, Rasage Poulin, also an excellent Canadian vendor, has Astor for $65. and the slant for $60.

There's the chrome slant for $50 but there's no gold slant! But with the $15 difference I can get the gold slant! Sweet!!!
