Razor Joseph Rodgers 5/8
Enjoyed a cracking shave with this buttery smooth and crisply keen-edge razor...

Gold Dollar shave with an experimental edge.
800 grit sandpaper, Ti paste on jute, finished on Herolds red paste on leather.
I had a backup razor ready. You can't always rely on micrscope images.
I was quite surprised.
This felt like a manufactured blade.
Yesterday I had a jnat edge on the same razor.
There was only a subtle difference. I prefer a natural edge, but this worked out well.

Gold Dollar with a concave bevel and a the french baker's garden slate edge finish (also called the Black Shadow):)
This also has a thinned spine.

This was compared to the a 3M 800 grit to paste edge i used yesterday.

This felt slightly softer, and cut a little better. However, the difference was not big. This had a better edge geometry, but the pasted edge probably had a smaller apex width.

I think people would be split in their opinion of what edge they would prefer, if they would notice a difference. I know what i prefer.
