What is your go to pen and ink color?

Pendleton Brown Tactile Turn that has a stainless Bock nib that was ground to a cursive italic with added flex, and Noodler Catfish Black!

It’s my favorite pen!

My working pens (in home office).

I alternate between travel between the
  • Montegrappa Mule (pen is less than a year old) with Viber Green
  • Faber Castell Silver (pen is more than a decade old) with Ironshizuku
Now, as the world changes, I rarely fill-up and use the Rotring (also more than a decade old) with Orange Herbin.

The use of Green-Red reflects my training in a bygone age, where markups of engineering drawings was done with Green (add) and Red (delete). The Mule was added, as the copper body was to symbolic for this electrical engineer to not include and use.

I find these combinations work well.

To early posts, I did not get great flow with the Noodlers and it was thin (also did not like Pelikan). MB and Sailor is (was) fine, and at times I have experiment other inks, most ok.

I killed off my bottle of Diamine's Registrar’s and picked up some ESS Registrar’s. Half the price and a bit more with it is a heck of a bargain for an equal or better quality ink. And it flows darkly and well in my SJ, which the Diamine’s wouldn’t.

My preferred combo is now the ESS in my SJ, with 9540 EF nib.
