I have tried several different shave soaps and creams which smell pretty good on their own. But what I want to know is what in your experience was the strongest cream or soap you have tried that smelled the strongest when it was lathered? Maybe I just have a weak nose.

Probably Arko before lathering but none were particularly strong when lathered. In my opinion, the scent of shaving soap/cream is over rated. I'm much more concerned with performance and the barely there scent once lathered is almost a non-factor.
I think that Musgo Real has a pretty intense scent.
Mikes Orange, Black Pepper & Cedarwood is very strong, if not pungent, in a good way, and it holds that scent very well when lathered.
Speick cream is pretty strong, most portuguese creams (musgo real, o melhor, etc) are well balanced and will be smelled throughout your shave. Most of the other big names I've found to smell very good when in the bowl and after being applied for the first pass , but weaken in scent strength throughout the shave. I haven't tried the highly praised artisans like Al's, QCS and the likes.

Bigelow smells like menthol. Cremo has a strong orange scent.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts. I agree that performance with the shave comes first. But I enjoy the whole process of shaving, and the smells are always nice. I mix it up almost every time so I dont get bored or build up a nose immunity lol.

for creams, the strongest i have smelled (in a good way) was Castle Forbes (all 3 scents)
CR Salter Vetiver is pretty stout in the tub, but I can't recall how strong it was on the face as lather.
Presumed question related to soap. As regards cream GFT sandalwood or rose holds scent in the lather very well.

I vote for arko. Vostok would bebthe strongest hit to to face.
I think my single most potent smelling cream has been Spencer & Devon "Spice." Definitely sniffable all through the shave.
