What's new

what is the cheapest best blade out there ?

I was looking tonight at the prices on ebay for supermax super stainless ( 600 blades for 35.60 total shipped from England to Texas ) and looking at the reviews they seem to be regarded as not a terrible blade .

My question is this the best "cheap" blade out there or is there one that is even cheaper and equal to it or poss. even better ?

6 cents shipped is not bad, and the SuperMax SS is a nice blade imho. If you like them this deal will be hard to beat. Have you shaved with them?
Perhaps you could also check with Anthony (DEShaver) as he has a bunch of them for sale in the BST.

Before I buy 600 of anything I have to be darn sure I like it. That being said I recently bought 50 of the Super Max from Bull Goose. Have yet to try them. If you wish to try them PM me with your address and I will shoot you a few blades.

Thank you for your offer ( pm sent ) I would like to support a B&B member so if i like them I will be sure to look the ones sold by DEshaver up , thank you for letting me know about that

and no I have not shaved with them so that is why i am leary of buying so many at once

The SuperMax Super Stainless are the cheapest blades i've ever seen 600 for £13.99 is less then 2.5p a blade with free postage in the UK. That means I can get a pack of ten of these for the price of one feather blade

They make great daily shavers despite the silly name, I can get 3 DFS out of a blade in a Tech or SuperSpeed. At that price you can toss it after one shave and not feel too guilty. So for the price of 1 fusion cartridge (£2.50) I can buy 10 tucks of 10 blades which is 100 blades or 300 shaves. Thats better then $1 a month eh Mr.Gillette?

Too me the SuperStainless are a budget Astra (SuperStainless) nearly as sharp but not nearly as smooth.

SuperMax are meant to be the largest blade producer in india and the only one that makes it's own steel. Based on these, I'm keen to try the SuperMax platinum, sunrise and tiger blades

If you are in America you should be able to find the platinums on the bay at a good price and don't confuse the SuperStainless for the plain jane Stainless.

The ebayer that is selling them has them for the price you mentioned plus 8.95 ( pounds not $ ) shipping . I will def. keep them in mind,, fingers crossed now that I like them . I always like a good deal . I really do want wet shaving to be cheaper ( I told my wife it was  ) so please supermax work for me

I likewise believe the SuperMax Super Stainless is the cheapest blade out there. As they are inexpensive, I bought so many that I'll ever use them so now I'm in the process selling off the excess.

That's correct. The Stainless is not particularly good and falls short as a blade. The Super Stainless is significantly better.

You can't beat the Astras or the RedIPs for 15-20c per blade.

I've never heard of the Supermax blades. How do they rate against the med Personnas?

My favorite cheapie is probably the Gillette 7 o'clock black. Not as good as my favorite med Personna, but still quite good.

I guess cheap is relative....I love Super Iridiums and get them at $0.34 per blade and consider that to be cheap. Shark super chromes are also good blades for around $0.16 per blade.

Found a beauty supply store that sells Astras for $9/100 pack.

That's with a barber discount.:blushing:

Without it they go for $12.

Don't think I can beat that price for a quality blade anywhere locally or online.

I really like these Israeli Personnas, also sold as Crystals and sometimes unbranded. To me, sharp, but smooth.I've used them for years. About .15 cents each shipped. Ebay search for Personna razor blades will lead you to them.

SuperMax Platinums -- I like them! Sharp enough and plenty smooth for three shaves. I just bought 240 on ebay for around $19, so plenty cheap.

I use the supermax platinum. The only thing is that they are not as sharp as Feather though. But I do not notice a difference with a nicely prepped face.

Super max super stainless by Vidyut is what I have been shaving with I have not found a cheaper blade as good as these and I rate them the same as red pack personna blades just as smooth.

And for those that have mentioned Dorco 301 blades you can get a good shave out of them but it won't be comfortable doing it.

Feathers are the cheapest BEST blades.

Oh sorry, I thought you were comparing against Mach 3, Fusion blades. Ok, Feathers are still the best, maybe not the cheapest.
