I just got a senator that was gold, but the gold finish was rubbed out and it looks like silver metal, it don't look gold any longer just silver, whats the metal, is it brass or metal silver? Is it ok to shave with out the gold finish on, just silver finish?

as far as I know, if you received a gold senator, what you have is a sheraton.

ah, but the gold is still visible on some spots of this razor, did the sheraton come in silver only or senator is gold only? here are some pics of gold remaining around the 2 bars near bottom.
The Sheraton comes 1937 only gold plated and the Senator comes 1938 only nickel plated. I believe the basic material of the Sheraton is brass and copper

its made of snickers covered in payday bars. everyone else is lying.

Your razor is a Senator, and the gold you are seeing is the brass base metal showing through where the nickel plating has worn away. The Sheraton and Senator may look identical in appearance (other than the differences in plating), but the silo door linkage was distinctly different on each.
