What's new

what firearms are on your wishlist?

I feel like i'm starting to develop FAD, sadly, I don't exactly have an expendable income so i'll have to buy things as I can afford them.

With that said, there are so many guns that I drool over that i'd love to add to my puny collection.

Right now i'd like to own:

- Mauser M98 & M03
- Browning BPS Hunter
- Browning Citori O/U
- 1911 handgun
- Winchester 94 30-30 (pre-64) & a Win 94 AE
- Ruger Mini 14
- Henry Frontier model .22 with octagonal barrel
- Sako 75 Hunter
- Winchester Model 70 Supergrade

What about you?

Next purchases are (in no particular order)

S&W 686P
1911 (still trying to decide which brand)
Ruger 10/22
Mosin nagant

I recently knocked 3 off of my list -
- S&W Model 60 Pro
- Sig Sauer 1911 Stainless
- S&W M+P Sport

I really only have a few left -
- Colt Commander
- Ruger 10/22 (perhaps the takedown)
- As many 1911s as I can get my hands on/afford

1911 (still trying to decide which brand)

i'm still trying to decide which brand as well. I was thinking of going with Colt since they seem to be the industry leader for the 1911. but then again, Kimber as well as a few others make a nice 1911.

Right there. My list is down to Colt, Sig or Springfield. Somehow I feel the only logical solution will be buying multiple ones.

My experience with 1911s pre-dates my experience with RAD, SBAD, SRAD, etc. It is much the same.
You can't go wrong with any of the brands you listed.

Colts are like the Gillettes of the 1911 world (except they are still manufacturing 1911s).
However, Springfield makes high quality/high value 1911s at a very affordable price. And Sig, trying to become a real player in 1911s, is currently offering big bang for your buck.
I have a Sig and a Springfield and am very happy with them. I have spoke to a few FFLs and folks at gun shops and they tell me they can't keep the Sig 1911s in stock...I have a feeling they will be going up in price at some point in the not to distant future...just a guess.
Kimbers are very nice and I've seriously looked into picking one up but I always end up getting something else as they don't offer the same features at price point as other manufacturers.

Any way you go, if it's your first, you'll be hooked. Be prepared to put aside funds for a 1911 budget similar to a shave budget (it never ends...).:001_unsur

Commander Quan

Commander Yellow Pantyhose
I bought my first Sig, a P226 Mk25 a couple months ago, and so I've been browsing the Sig forums. A lot of people a complaining about the quality and of the Sigs that are coming out of the factory recently. I've got 300 rounds through mine and have had zero issues with it but just something to keep in mind if you are looking at a Sig.

Let's see... got a
Mauser K-98
Enfield #3 1918
Enfield #5 Jungle Carbine 1943
Israeli surplus Heavy Barrel FAL
Argentine surplus FAL
M-14 (semi)

I think I would like an old school Colt M-16 (AR-15) with a the three prong flash supressor

EAA witness match, .40 or 9mm "upper" I'd rather have 9, but I might start shooting competition and have to get .40. Currently have it in .45
EAA witness match, .22 upper

AR Bull barrel 5.56 upper
AR 5.45 Upper (if 5.45 stays cheap)
AR 7.62X39 upper

Hi point carbine, maybe .45 since you can use extended mags.

AR-10

Springfield XDM

After I start reloading I'm planning to get a 10mm upper for my Witness, and maybe some other 10mm pistols. Maybe a .458 SOCOM or .50 Beowulf AR upper, too. Or Grendel or those other expensive calibers.

Ruger LCP
Ruger 10/22
Hunting rifle (prob .308 or .270) unk brand at this time. Probably a Remington 700, Tikka T3 or Browning A-Bolt
S&W Shield 9mm.
S&W M&P15 Sport.

I will probably get the LCP first...most likely in a month.

Eesh, what a question. So many guns, so little money...

-Ruger .22 pistol, either the Mark III or the 22/45, with a threaded barrel. A suppressor eventually too.

-A .22 revolver. Unsure of brand. I'd prefer a double action with a long target barrel but I really don't want to drop 6 or 7 hundred bucks for a Smith. Maybe a Taurus?

-1911, probably a springfield. I have a WWII issued one from my grandfather but I can't bring myself to shoot it (aside from a few mags to make sure it was still in good order). So this would be largely a range gun, though it might get some CCW use in the winter.

-J frame smith in .38. Primarily a backup gun for CCW.

-AR-15. Unsure on brand. This would be a plinker.

-.30/30 lever action. I'd love a pre-'68 winchester, but since I probably can't afford one I'd likely go marlin.
