What do you do if you find Penhaligon's Tallow Soap?

Gentlemen. My question is so simple. I have heard from you non-tallow Penhaligon's soaps are useless in these days in addition their prices are expensive for that performance. However I see tallow based Penhaligon's soaps are well regarded at B&B(Holy Grail of SS?). Maybe I will have never used these gems in my future life. So at this point I ask what do you really do if you find it and what is this hunting for?

My question what is difference between them. I looked reviews section and their average points are similar. I searched everywhere but there is only Jim's tallow soap compendium mentioned that it is a must buy soap.

What visually differentiates the tallow puck from the reformulated puck of Pen's? Is it the imprint on the soap? Gotta make sure there's no bait and switch.

The Pens soaps are identical in new and old versions except for the outside box. So a switch is possible. For the price asked I would buy 5 pucks of AOS instead.

If I ever got a hold of some tallow Pen's I would use it. What else is shaving soap for?

Agreed but Grail soap or not, I'm not paying $100 for a puck. There are too many great soaps out there (sheesh, and I thought AOS was pricey!)

Seriously, I wish I had a stash of the stuff but I'm not even looking for any at these prices ( of course, if anyone wants to PIF me :thumbup1:)

I'm actually quietly stockpiling AOS at this point anticipating the day when AOS starts selling compressed pucks of Fusion gel:tongue_sm

+1. Pens old soaps lather really well, but it is the scent that gets me. You could pick up English Fern or Blenheim Bouquet EDT or AS and dose some unscented AoS lather for a great lather and scent experience.

Well, not useless. I believe they can be very expensive bath soaps :001_tt2:

I named the thread mistakenly. I was thinking Turkish when I wrote it. I mean What do you find out who you have Penhaligon's Tallow Soap?. I am sorry for my imperfect English.

BTW it is a unbelievable price. I think the seller must give his thanks to timsclips.

I wonder if I could collect a commision from the sale?

Which is why active auction links are not permitted at the B&B.

So here's the thing:blush:.... I've got a little time so I'm reorganizing "the stash" (I can't in good conscience call my "area" a "Den" but that's another story.... )

.... and what do I find? Not one but TWO:thumbup: Seriously? How did I forget this stuff was hidden in the back row??

So I popped one open. Awesome shave! Whoa!
