This is the third shave with my Merkur 37c loaded with a Wizamet blade. The blade is showing some wear. It was not as smooth as it was in previous shaves. However, the shave was close. Today I switched to the large synthetic made by Yaqi. It took longer to load the Haslinger soap than the Paladin brush I used yesterday. The lather was good, however. The Haslinger tallow soap resulted in an excellent lather. This was the 17th day I used the soap. The shave was perfect. Have a wonderful day, folks.

Ahh now that is a shave. Smooth, comfortable and oh so sweet. Efficient and easy to use razor that yielded an effortless marble like shave. I could get used to this.

Stirling Pearberry
Shavemac D01 3 Band / color: Peacock
Personna Lab Blues xx uses (over 40)
PAA Cube 2.0 pre shave soap

First use of the Osprey since I sent it back to Blackland to get the High Viz numbers on the dial. Just as great as I remember as it was a few months ago. Second or third use of the D01 3 band. I'm kind of warming up to it but it still seems way floppier than expected. The Pearberry soap I surprisingly love and this came in a soap bundle I would have never bought on my own. Happy surprise/mistake there. Rating 8.5

Preshave: Hot shower
Soap/Shave cream: Stirling Soap Stirling Gentleman
Brush: Maggard 24mm
Razor: Rockwell 6C
Blade: Gillette Nacet (3)
Post shave: Pinaud Clubman
Rating: 9.5/10

Let me state up front that I am a huge fan of Stirling Soap Company. And I'm loyal to them. I've bought a lot of shave soaps from them and will continue to do so. But for the life of me, I can't help but wonder if the sample of Stirling Gentleman I got awhile back is missing some vital element or something. Because a gentleman should not smell like a used athletic sock. I've only used this soap once or twice before and now I remember why. Even Babe Ruth struck out sometimes and this soap is a big three strikes and you're out ...
The rest of the shave was terrific, of course: great razor and blade.
So even though I smell like a locker room, my face is smooth.

Do you know of they ever reissued the Pomp soap sets or is yours from 2022-2023? They were supposed to bring it back in 2024 and don't think I missed it. Hope do you like the Pomp AS? I only have the soap I had to buy used

Day 16 of all injector month.
Schick Model G first pass, Christy handle second pass (same blade)
2nd shave Topco platinum chrome injector
Arko
I don’t know what my brush is; I got it second hand and soaked it overnight in alcohol.
7/10 two pass.

An acceptable pre-work shave. Less smooth to the hand than I prefer, but I don’t look like Fred Flintstone, either.

Razor : Yaqi SLOPE slant 316 SS with a Yaqi Brass nickel coated handle. Mfg 2023>, mild to tame mid range. Great machining and finish for my shaving needs. I always like using a slant because they are efficient and slicing action with a slant is excellent in theory and practice. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : GSB (1) sharp and smooth with reasonable . Top tier blade
Soap : Yaqi Musketeer Rapier, very nice unique Musk scent that turns my crank + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi " Lucky Casinos" 26mm synthetic Timber wolf knot. Excellent lather generator, luxury heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Witch hazel beard cleanse + Yaqi Musketeer Rapier + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).

Thursday’s shave……..
Made in Canada , oval slot Tech…also has a solid slim handle. Not seen too many like it.
Omega 10108 boar
Dutchi bergamot soap
Iridium Super blade
I find this razor to be quite mild compared to the pre -war triangular slot version but still provides a decent shave. Bit more effort required for a BBS compared to the pre-war.
Like this soap..courtesy of Guido. Slick and fine scent.
Good shave with very little irritation.

My set is the OG. As far as the aftershave goes ... If you use it straight-up it leaves your skin sticky. I've found that if I slightly dampen my hands and apply 1/2 of what you'd normally use with an aftershave, the stickiness is greatly minimized. After half an hour or so any stickiness goes away leaving your skin moisturized all day.

I find most non-alcohol aftershaves leave my skin feeling sticky for a while so it's not just GD's aftershaves.

Rating: 10/10 A comfortable efficient 2 pass BBS shave with one touch up, no weepers, cuts or irritation. Was in a rush this morning so broke down to a cartridge razor. Contractor was to show up at 8, but didn't until 9:30. On the bright side, this could be a travel combo. A very nice shave.
