Razor: Gem G-Bar, SE, 1958
Blade: Personna Gem (3)
Brush: Thater 4125 Fan-Knot 24mm

Soap :Queen Charlotte Soaps ,Vetiver

Post: Thayer's Medicated Witch Hazel,
RazoRock Acquatico Aftershave Splash

Had trouble building a lather yesterday with this soap so today I loaded from the puck and face lathered. I used more product and water both. I got a much better lather but it wasn't an excellent lather. I did two passes and got a good shave. Not BBS but good enough.

10/10: Outstanding and refreshingly efficient shave today. Also the first time I've gotten a chance to try an A&E aftershave. I almost never use post shave products with soaps of this quality, but I have to say this was pretty nice and left my skin in a good place. I'm not sure I prefer it to no A/S, but now I'm wondering if they have a place with certain other soaps and creams...

Saturday, 4/3 and Sunday, 4/4 shaves

Razor: RazoRock Game Changer .84 P with HD handle
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1 and 2)
Brush: Omega Sintex synthetic
Soap: Arko shave stick
Rating: 7.5 and 9.0

Saturday: a rushed shave; gave up after one pass due to no slickness or cushioning from the lather. It was not a close shave, but at least there was no visible stubble, and I had no cuts or irritation.

Sunday: DFS+ after WTG/XTG/ATG passes. The shave was not as close as I would have liked, but the lather had surprisingly good slickness and cushioning, resulting in no cuts or irritation.

Razor: RazoRock Game Changer .84 P with HD handle
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (3)
Brush: RazoRock Barber 24 synthetic
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Rating: 9.9

This morning's great shave on 2 days of growth. BBS after WTG/XTG/ATG passes, and no nicks or irritation. I bloomed the soap puck for several minutes before shaving, since I hadn't used this Mitchell's for a month or more, and face lathering worked well.

I did notice that the GSB blade felt dull today and stopped dead on some of the heavier stubble, requiring some pressure to cut those whiskers. This surprised me because I recalled GSBs being on the sharper side of the spectrum and lasting 7+ shaves for me. I will try another shave with this blade and see if it is really kaput.

Soap: Arko
Razor: Le Grelot 6/8
Strop: Tony Miller Steerhide
Brush: Omega boar
Aftershave: Witch hazel / Clubman

Smell so naaaaass.

Got a few weepers this time around, and wasn't the smoothest shave. I'm mostly to blame, although I got lazy with creating the lather. Whatever. Final result was still pretty decent though. Only one weeper lasted through the final rinse.

This particular Progress was all caked with soap when I bought it for around twenty bucks. I have purchased razors which are over a century in age, but this was by far the filthiest! It has a hairline crack in the handle but otherwise cleaned up well. I started my shave on two, but quickly moved the setting knob to the three position. I was rewarded with a very close and comfortable shave with no stubble remaining after my usual three passes. I have always admired the looks of this classic razor and now I can confirm that it shaves as good as it looks!

Razor: Merkur Progress
Blade: Personna Lab Blue
Brush: Simpson Emperor 3 Super Badger
Pre-Shave: Proraso White
Lather: Long Rifle Bay Rhum
Aftershave: Pinaud Virgin Islands Bay Rum
Additional Care:
Thayers Facial Tonic Witch Hazel Unscented
Imperial Leather Talcum Powder

Tuesday morning shave

Razor: Gold Dollar
Brush: Boar
Soap: Wilkinson Sword stick
Post: Skin Bracer

All the heavy hitters in the value department. Cheap, mass produced SR cuts it. $5 brush lathers. Soap stick is super slick. Post shave drugstore offering seals the deal.
Happy Tuesday all.

Razor: Gillette Tech/NEW Hybrid (England) (Charcoal Goods Copper Dimpled Handle)
Blade: Feather (1)
Brush: Heritage Collection Ever-Ready 500E (TNS 26mm Quartermoon Knot)
Bowl: Captain's Choice Copper
Lather: Musgo Real Classic
Moisturizer: Nivea Post Shave Balm + Hyaluronic Acid
Aftershave: Bootlegger's Bay Rum

Excellent shave!

It was a shave in a hurry as I had to turn in to work unexpectedly so instead of further breaking in my SOC boar I choose stuff used dozens of times.

Razor: Rockwell 6S, WTG/XTG R4, ATG R3
Blade: Personna Red, 3
Soap: Haslinger sheep
Brush: Shavemac Synthetic
Aftershave: Nivea Sensitive Balm

scored 9/10, excellent shave, close but smooth, no irritation, no nicks

- Brush: Zenith Manchurian
- Razor: Game Changer Jaws .68
- Blade: Kent of Inglewood “Mild”😂 (1)
- Soap: B&M Paganini’s Violin
- Aftershave: B&M Paganini’s Violin balm
- Post Shave: Thayers Rose, Hyaluronic Acid, styptic, alum...

Worst shave of the year. A tuck of Kent “Mild“ blades came with my Karve razor a while back so I finally gave one a whirl. Evil little things. Almost had to pull out the bandaids. Alum block and a styptic pen couldn’t stop the bleeding. Just an awful blade. Makes Rockwell and Merkur blades look like a dream come true. I threw out the remaining blades as I wouldn’t give them to my worst enemy. If you see this harmless looking pretty paisley blade wrapper... run.

Anyhoo... The Zenith brush is great. Amazing Manchurian knot and great tips/backbone. Paganini’s Violin may be my favourite scent of all time. I can’t wait for an AS or cologne. 👍
