What did I buy? What other handle can I use?

Guys got my first OC on the bay. I paid $15.49 shipped seller was very clear that the handle was cracked but I still decided to take a chance. What type of Gillette is it new or old type? Will any old Gillette handle work? What about the one off my EJ DE89. Some one on the BOTOC thread directed me to a wiki with instructions on how to fix. I just want to have a back up.

Just about any old Gillette or modern 3 piece razor handle. Handles from Icon, Tradere work fine.

The handle can be repaired with clear marine-grade epoxy . . . nice looking Old Type! Congrats!!

I agree with BBrad - nice looking Old Type!!!! I have a 1930 New Type which has a "coat hanger" profile that holds the blade slightly above the teeth.

Use some epoxy and it will be good for another 50 years
