Citroën Xsara Picasso 2.0 Litre HDi.

Love my Picasso and Citroëns in general. I had a few 2CV's years ago. The most fun you can have with your clothes on!

Gareth, what's your opinion of Alfa Romeo? From what I've learned from friends hailing from the UK, everyone has owned an AF at some point in their lives. True?

Not me! I've heard they are a bit unreliable but never having owned one I can't say that's true.

Cello, click the linky for part 1. American makers are on that list.

I drove a Saab 900S for ~ 2 years and loved it. Sadly it died, and had to go to the parts yard. Would love to try another Saab in the future.

Two years ago, I bought a Subaru Legacy 3.0R. Three-liter flat-six engine, 245 horses, 4-wheel drive. I have never seen another one in France, and they no longer sell anything but diesels. It's a fantastic car (one major gripe: the sound system, and a minor one: cheesy GPS graphics).

Wow, this is a complicated poll, multiple parts and all...

Subaru all the way, though!

For my next car, I will consider a european equivalent (think Audi Allroad), if they ever bring one back to the USA with: (a) all wheel drive, (b) increased ground clearance, (c) wagon or hatch style, (d) manual transmission, and (e) diesel. I am not holding out too much hope, though... although readily available in europe, they only seem to want to sell us automatic SUVs with gas engines.
