A year and a half ago, at the age of 40, my typical morning routine consisted of shaving in the shower with a Fusion and some type of mass-produced shave gel that had the word moisturizing on the can. I didnt use aftershave or cologne. My evenings were spent trying not to scratch my horribly dry, irritated skin rife with razor bumps and ingrown hairs. I usually ended my evening with a couple of mediocre beers. I was lucky enough to stumble upon B&B while looking for alternatives to the terrible shaves I was getting.
Fast forward to this morning, I got out of the shower and face lathered Mitchells Wool Fat with my Shavemac silvertip, and did a wonderful three pass shave with my Gem 1912 with a Pella blade. After a splash of witch hazel I finished the shave with Gentlemans Refinery unscented shave balm. A quick spray of Terre DHermes, and I was ready to face the day.
Tonight, I sit here with skin that looks ten years younger than it did even a year ago, and I will cap my evening with a glass of single malt Islay. So, gentlemen (and ladies), I raise a glass of Ardbeg 10-year to all of you and say thank you for making me a better person and for helping me to enjoy life so much more than I used to.
With gratitude,
Scott
