The Original Autostrop
Today I received my coveted Autostrop “A1”
It was as black as sin when it arrived. I had it in pieces so fast, I didn’t even get a before photo.

I tried silver polish “Silvo”, and it didn’t do anything at all.
I know you shouldn’t, but I finally got out the Brasso and went at it. It was all it could do to cut through the black oxidization.

Instead of a lever, the A1 has a spring button in the back to push the comb outward While fitting the blade into the stops.

I know the blade “door” looks black in the last two pics, but that’s just the lighting.

Wow you did a Bang up Job. Beautiful

Upping my game with a natural sponge. I’ve been using a synthetic dish Spange for just over a year to wipe my straight razor between passes. That neon green piece of plastic foam seems out of place with my natural badger brushes, silver lather bowl and ivory razors. This natural Wool Sponge should work much better once cut down to size.

@cryhavoc Well, you're the one doing longevity tests on the Schick Chick blades! If you saw my shave this morning, it was an accidental BBS on my 10th shave with a Schick PP. Accidental, I wasn't striving for it, just sorta happened.

I have, lessee, 169 blades left. Clearly a week+ blades all of them, so over three years of shaves worth at the moment. I like 'em! You can tell, huh?

I got a boomerang today. I spent this one back months ago due to quality issues. Now it’s arrived back in my doorstep with a note that says undeliverable. Months at sea haven’t done the blade any favours but it should polish up. I’ll have another try at honing it on some narrow stones and see how it goes.

I just received my puck of mint eucalyptus from the Wet Shaving Club. While walking back from the mailbox I could smell the spearmint through the packaging. It's definitely spearmint forward. It's a transparent puck and I have no idea who the maker is---"An artisan Soapmaker in New York’s Hudson Valley"

Ingredients: Coconut Oil, *Palm Oil, Safflower Oil, Olive Oil (Grade A extra virgin), Castor Oil, Glycerin (kosher, of vegetable origin), Hemp Seed Oil (unrefined), Purified Water, Sodium Hydroxide (saponifying agent), Sorbitol (moisturizer), Bentonite clay (humectant), Sorbitan oleate (emulsifier), Soybean protein (conditioner), Wheat Protein (conditioner), Essential Oils

Whew, got double whammied with two big boxes today - part of my September closeout before promising to behave in October.

Stirling order (THREE sample bars of soap this time - they must really be feeling guilty about the 7 days of handling time):

A pile of soaps from WCS. The Gløgg and TOBS were pre-meditated. The rest were happy impulse buys.

And finally, a couple bottles of aftershave. Zingari Man is big on my hitlist at present - some soap samples en route from Maggard.

Today's I received a nifty Ever-Ready brush, one that I'm sure is familiar to many of you but one that I hadn't seen before. The price was very reasonable so I went for it. I believe this is the model 200BH but I may be wrong. It's a butterscotch color but there are parts of the stand which are distinctly green so I'm guessing the bakelite has oxidized or been discolored in some other way. This is my first natural hair brush and it's very stiff. It has the dark band which I believe means badger but I have no idea. If you have differing or other info about this brush, please let me know.

It's much smaller than I expected but still a usable size. Apparently, it was intended as a travel brush or possibly something you'd keep displayed on your counter. The bristles seem perfectly fine so I am planning to use it unless any of you have a reason I shouldn't. I'm going to clean it first of course.
