In a country that likes to drown all its beverage in ice cubes to the point that you wonder if there is a drink in that slush, I gotta say that the frenchman in me find it refreshing to not see a single ice cube. That being said you would not caught a french man drinking a pastaga without an ice cube or two ;-) . Probably the only drink that would come with ice cube by default in France .

I mentioned in another thread that I seem to have regained my beer tastebuds, although gin and wine are still likely to figure. Last night my wife suggested after work we meet up at a part of Singapore called Katong, and specifically Joo Chiat Road. This has number of bars, restaurants, independent shops, a custom motorcycle shop and various beauty salons. We had a bit of a bar crawl, beers ranging from Asahi to locally brewed craft beers and finishing up on the gins and a burger. I seem to be turning young again! She wants to try some of the bars tonight that we did not get around to!

Found the recipe while browsing around , named the Neon Experience

Ingredients:

1 muddled baby cucumber
60 ml Gin
20 ml Lemon Juice
20 ml Agave Syrup

Refreshing for sure just a bit to sweet for me. I guess a cucumber gimlet tomorrow is in order

What's your go to gin? I'm quite partial to Broker's for a refreshing G&T w/a generous lime wheel.
