What's new

What are you drinking tonight?

I have been drinking Plantation Grande Reserve 5 Year. I thought it said 5 star on it, too. Pure Barbados rum, unlike my usual go to rum these days, the Plantation 3 Star, which is a blend of rums from three islands. I really like them both and the prices are right. I I will give the edge to the GR. Great in a Barbados Rum Punch, which is becoming a go to itself. Simple but excellent.

Correction: It is actually Plantation 5 Year, with no Grande Reserve. There is a Plantation Grande Reserve 5 Year, too, that I have not had.

41km on the bike today so refreshments started with a Lynchburg Lemonade on the front porch..?

Bijou again, but different ratios.
1 1/2 oz Flower City Gin
3/4 oz Green Chartreuse
3/4 oz Dolin Sweet Vermouth
2 dashes Angostura Orange Bitters
Much better balance between the sweet and herbal. Not bad.

Tirvine

ancient grey sweatophile
Not much sadder than a martini glass that has been drained twice, for thrice would be folly. Tanq and Dolin 3:1, shaken 38 vigorous shakes, mercilessly bruising those botanicals, hopelessly clouding that drink, yielding superb taste, graced with a not briny olive.
