What's new

Well, Kiss My Face!

Any other fans of Kiss My Face cream? I tried it for the first time this week and, wow!

I've been adding a little as I lather up my Arko and it makes an unbelievable lather. Also drowns out some of the Arko scent.

I just pulled out my bottle this morning.
I killed off a tub of AOS and I'm moving on to something else.

KMF is great stuff. :thumbup1:

Something must be wrong with the Kiss My Face bottle my wife picked up for me this past week. She got the Green Tea & Bamboo because it was on clearance for $4. The scent is ok. It's not my favorite, but not bad. I think it is the new formula because it says "paraben free". Anyway, when I try to build lather with this it turns into a wet sloppy mess. I started with a boar brush soaked in a mug of water for 5 minutes and shaken hard once and tried slowly adding water, but the two times I've tried I haven't had any success.

Have others had this problem? Is it the new formulation? Are there any tricks I can try?

I'm not feeling the love for KMF... Maybe I need to relegate it to building superlather with something else as you've tried with Arko.

I use it with a badger. I squeeze water out of the brush, so not soppy wet. Makes a great lather for me, but I'm using Patchouli.
Never tried Bamboo.

I have tried several with and with out a brush and like them very much. If I do use a brush I use a very dry brush.

KMF is all the wife uses.

Exactly same situation: scent, sale (same price too!) and thin lather. :) Anyway, what worked for me was to use three pumps. (People here say one or two, but maybe it is my "hardish" water...) Worth a try.

I rarely use KMF by itself, but when I do it performs well. Make sure to use enough product -- two squirts of the pump.

I tried two pumps, but I guess I'll try again with three pumps and a dryer brush and add water slowly. I'll give it a shot, but at $4 at least I'm not out too much $$$.

I have the new formula of Key Lime and have used the old formulas. It lathers up better for me and I have severely hard water. Less than a full squirt gets me through 3 passes with loads of fluff.

I bowl lather with a dry bowl and a very dry brush. I'll usually add a few drops of water as I go, but that is normally all I need

Wow, one squirt of the lavender makes enough lather for five passes for me, could lather that stuff with chopsticks. I have a water softener so maybe that is why.

Posts like this make me think I must have a different product. Can anyone make good lather with the KMF Green Tea & Bamboo new formulation that is paraben free?

Maybe I just need to try a different scent. It'd be nice to be able to pick up a product locally that worked well. The only choices I really have in stores locally are KMF, VDH and Williams plus a couple other brushless creams.

Try face lathering it. I tried bowl lathering my new KMF and it seemed to suck right up into my brush. With face lather, I get enough for 3 passes on 3/4 a squirt.

I like the Key Lime and Lavender Shea.

Those are my favorites too. I mostly use it to may Uberlather with my puck of Czars Choice Menthol Mama Bear(Think Lime, Cilantro and Menthol) and with my AOS Lavender soap.

Great stuff

KMF was one of the first shave creams I tried, their Key Lime with some Bigelow is a staple for me. You're not the first to report problems with lathering it since the reformulation. I went & tested my bottle of the new formula the other night and got the same great shave & lather thank god, but it really does not need a lot of water. I'd recommend either a drier brush or a second pump of KMF.
