Just used my Nostalgic 2.0 (horrible name) for the first time in ages, with a Voskhod razor on its second use, and gave myself a DFS with very little effort. (Derby soap, Omega boar brush, and Proraso pre-shave were used).
Now, I did have it wide open, since anything besides that and it does nothing, but this was on 2 days growth. No irritation when I used my alum block. Pleasantly surprised at the outcome.
I also didn't have any issues with it clogging with soap and stubble, but I did use running water to get it out. The guard seems to snowplow the soap quite a bit, even at that setting.
