Wedding gift from my wife to be.NEED HELP!

Hello fellow badgers. My fiance and i were talking about gifts to give eachother for our wedding in 2 weeks. We arent into jewellery or any of that diamond flashy stuff but instead of hobbies. She knows I love shaving (plus i dont have a choice since i work policing) but i love the art and shes know it too. Ive never been one to endulge in nice creams or brushes or even razor.

I currently have a Art of shaving beginner set that found on sale at Sephora and added proraso green awhile back.

She wants to get me a complete new set of evertyhing. Ive decided to try the Geo F Trumper line of sandlewood cream and skin food and now stuck on which brush and razor to get.

for brush im thinking of a Simpson Duke or Chubby (not sure which one in regards to number size but most likely in best badger)
for razor im thinking of the Merkur Futur or the progress. I like how its adjustable.

Please help me out cause she wants to order them tonight so i have them before the wedding

Go with the Duke-2 (Best) and the Progress. If your hands are bigger, choose the Chubby-2 and the long-handle Progress.

If you're ordering through WCS, then don't forget about the BANDB code for extra discounts (especially on the brush!)

Joe/IB is my go-to Canadian vendor, but Alfred/Fendrihan offers some different products (but is generally a more expensive option). Both provide excellent service.

Coming cross-border, the only time I have been hit with Customs charges (whether B&B related or not) is when couriers are involved. Make sure to get things shipped by USPS and you should be fine. Never had any customs issue with anything from WCS or any of our other fine Southern vendors using USPS.

Duke 2 and Chubby 1 are very similar:

the Duke 2 will cost you considerably less then the Chubby 1 Both are excellent face lathering brushes. Handles on both are a little small for bowl lathering IMHO My fave face brush is still the Duke 2. You can't go wrong with the Duke.

I would steer you to the Progress as the Futur can bite.

My first "real" brush was a Duke 2. It is still a great brush. I have found, after about four months of DE shaving, that I prefer a taller and more robust handle. I wish I had sprung for a Duke 3. I am saving up now for a Chubby 2 in 2 band. Either way you go, you won't lose!

I cannot offer much about the razor, I am still using my first EJ lined chrome. I love it and I am settled with it for now.

i would suggest the Duke 3 for an all-round brush, but i prefer the Chubby 1

I suggest:
Simpson Duke 3 in Best Badger or 2-band; if you face lather, it is one of the best brushes out there.
and
Progress Long Handle; forget the Futur, I find it clunky and seemed a bit rougher than I like; Progress gives me a smoother shave and is becoming my favorite razor, and I am not a Merkur fan in general.
Congratulation on your approaching nuptials.

Just saw your choices-Chubby 2 in 2-band is great; I'm less enthusiastic about the Futur, but, it's your face.

You're starring at the very top of the game in my view - not much, if anything at all in the entire world, will beat a Simpson Chubby 2 in 2-Band hair.

Thank you. Its hard to decide with soo many brushes out there but ive always wanted a simpsons brush and plus i thought of it like this why not get something that i could pass down to my future son (if im able to have one)

ive never seen one in person or even felt it on my face. Im sure it will be a huge difference than the AOS starter one i have. Im a shaving cream guy and want to know if this brush is good for bowl and face lathering?
