Weber DLC -- out of stock forever?

My weber DLC is the only razor I think I could ever possibly need.

I might want another at some point, but I think that the weber will outlast me.

Get one when they are available.

It would be nice if they took orders. I guess I'll just have to keep an eye out over the next couple of weeks.

I would say that if you don't like their business model, don't get one.

Since they sell out almost instantly when they are available, I don't think weber's business model is hurting his sales at present.

I wasn't trying to be helpful, just noticing that there are several threads of people complaining about weber's business model, yet still buying them when they are available.

Why are they so slow mass producing these? Is it a one man operation ?

My best guess (and I have nothing but a hunch to support it) is that the razors are side production for an machine shop that is not running at full capacity due to the economic slump. They have enough normal work to keep them busy most of the time, and run razors when there is a slowdown in their regular business.

Further, any parts that are poured/ cast, are more economical to produce if done as a large order, and done when not under a time restraint. Perhaps these parts are only produced when there is a dry spell of regular run products as well.

I'm not sure anyone is complaining about the "business model", but rather general company courtesy to potential customers.

I bought my DLC from that site some ten weeks ago.
You must have been a tad unlucky to have missed out.

I bet when they come out- they will be more expensive again!

That's supply and demand for you. And when they fall out of favor when another new razor comes along, there will be plenty of supply and perhaps some deals on them.

I remember when certain new cars were introduced, such as the original Mustang, Viper, etc., dealers list these cars at more than the MSRRP. However, in certain cases when supply increased and demand fell, so did the prices.
