I only wear a shirt once before getting it cleaned. WIth pants and suits I play it by ear depending on how dirty or wrinkled they are. I'm told that getting clothes dry cleaned too often will shorten their life, but the shirts are laundered rather than dry cleaned.
1-2 before they go in the wash, but the second is always a more informal wearing. Most of my dress shirt wearings are informal though, so it's not too hard to do. Really I play it by ear, if my shirt's dirty it gets cleaned, if not then it gets hung up to air and then re-used, repeat as necessary.
I wear suits/dress shirts every day. I wear a dress shirt 4 times before it is washed. I am very careful with my shirts and I wll iron them between washes if needed.
Shirts only get one wear before being washed and ironed by SWMBO. I couldn't wear a shirt more than once before having it cleaned. It might be different I guess if you wear an undershirt. I've got 7 suits and rotated through them so I generally only get them dry cleaned once a quarter.
I do the same thing, never wash my jeans... I wear the same pair for about 6 months or so when they smell.... it kills the bacteria that causes the smell
Do all your suits not begin to smell after wearing them so much, or do you simply have so many suits that you only have to wear them 2-3 times semi-annually?
I have 3 suits, 3 pairs of khakis, one blazer, and several shirts. I will wear a suit 2-3 times between cleanings before they get to smelling. I wash my own shirts and iron them myself, but I've taken to having them dry cleaned to save myself the trouble.
