I like comfort. I like sack suits and jackets (42), I like shoes with room for my toes and instep, and I like billowy shirts (think of the Brooks Brothers of old traditional OCBD). As I have retired, more of my wardrobe is casual. I continued buying shirts by neck and sleeve measurements and finding some too restrictive around the chest. That struck me as odd, since I am a fairly average size (5'10"-ish and 160 pounds). Finally I have learned to look at the measurement from pit to pit across the back. Most are 22", but some are 25". So now I am a 15/33/25 and much happier about how my shirts fit. I have a reasonably small wardrobe (five casual long sleeve shirts). So each shirt needs to be comfortable. I do not have much ability simply to ignore one or two.
