Email Scam

Please be advised that we've discovered this morning that an email account, paydepst@ gmail.com, associated with superlather.com has been compromised, and the following message sent to folks who have previously been in contact with said account, including many of our members:

I'm sorry for this odd request because it might get to you too urgent but it's because of the situation of things right now, I'm stuck in London, United Kingdom right now, i came down here on vacation , i was robbed, worse of it is that bags, cash and cards and my cell phone were stolen at GUN POINT, so i only have access to my email, it's such a crazy and brutal experience for me and i was hurt on my right hand, i need help flying back home, the authorities are not being 100% supportive but the good thing is i still have my passport but don't have enough money to sort the bills and get my flight ticket back home, please i need you to loan me some money, i promise to refund it as soon as I'm back home, you can get it to me through western union.

This is a known scam. Please do not respond to any emails received from this account. Mark is no longer in control of this account. Superlather remains a vendor here in good standing. Communications with superlather may be continued at present by emailing help (at) superlather (dot) com.

Sounds like one of those Nigerian scammers. Who the hell would fall for this crap ? Hmmm, nevermind. I sent him $100 so everything's cool now.

I tended to get scams like this at work for quite awhile. Lots of us did. After awhile it became a competition to pick out the things no American who speaks English as his/her primary language would say or write. One of the glaring mistakes a lot of us caught was referring to one's cousin as the son of my mother's brother. I was going to paste the original plea for money here, but don't want to add to any potential for confusion. Anybody besides me want to point out the "trying to be American and hip mistakes here"? Here's my submission; LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM...huh? Geographically correct, but that ain't what we say.

Received one today too. Also, there is Mark Lacey on my default page in Facebook, standing there for few weeks already, as a friend suggestion, right hand side of a monitor. Check your FB page people.

P.S: Although I was his customer more than a year ago, we never mentioned Facebook. The culprit who hacked Mark's email account seems to be into well organized scamming.

I love getting these type of scams. Let see I'll go for the obvious, not to mention the massive run on sentence.
