Vulfix Best Badger, Classic Shaving?

Gents,

I just received the Vulfix No. 403 Best Badger Brush from Classic Shaving.com. Interestingly enough however is the fact that Vulfix does not appear to make a Best Badger Brush. When I checked the Vulfix website the 403 is part of the London Series and is made in Pure Badger. Also the knot diameter is actually 19mm while classic shaving lists it as 20mm. I feel a little bit cheated by their advertising. Please correct me if I'm mistaken in some way, links provided below.

If you have issues with a vendor you should deal with them first before bringing it here.

Something strange there. I suspect they have changed their grading. It looks to me that Super is what best is and the pure can be typical pure, the basic stuff or a little higher in grade while the silvertip is well typical 3 band silvertip.

If you wanted best and classic misadvertised you should contact them and return the brush or at least see what they say to you. They are a very reputable outfit and would not intentionally mislead anyone.

What made you decide with your sixth post to bad mouth a reputable vendor? You could have just as easily contacted them directly.

At Superior Shave they call it an 18 mm knot, with pure badger.

You asked to be corrected if you were mistaken. You were mistaken. You should have emailed or called Classic Shaving directly.

I do plan to contact them directly, but in the mean time I thought it be a nice service to others to advertise the inconsistencies in advertising. After a search I've also found that this seems to be a common problem with a lot of the Vulfix line. There seems to be a communication or grading difference between the manufacturer and retailers that people should be aware of before purchasing.

I appreciate the response from Thebigspendur, that grading explanation makes sense. Also for those of us just getting into wet shaving we don't know which vendors are reputable yet.

Gulfstream - Another thing to be aware of is customizing. Many times a brush manufacturer will make a brush with a hair upgrade for the vendor to offer customers. I know of at least three cases where this is done.

This vendor has always done right by me. You should go to them before you continue to rant against them in this thread. They will correct anything they have done wrong.

Pretty poor taste fellow shaver.
