Vintage Timex Automatic

Guys

Was in a local opp shop today and saw a vintage Timex Automatic. From what I can gather on the net looking at similar pictures it's a 1970's model.

I've since found out there should be a manufacture date on the bottom of the dial.

It's a pillow shape gold casing with rather unusual ( to me anyway ) pips and hands, date indicator . Gave it a shake and it seem to work fine.

Kinda like this one but the hands and pips and face are completely different

They want $40AU ( approx $36US ). It'll need a new band and I think a nice brown leather one would set it off nicely .

Worth it or not ?? Can probably haggle them down maybe to $30..... :thumbup1:

That watch will probably need to be serviced. Therefore, factor an additional cost of $75 for service.

Timex watches from that era were cheap watches you bought for maybe $30 or or less and when they wore out after 20 years of use you threw them away. They weren't really made to be repaired.
