Vintage Gilette Razors?

Hello everyone I am new to the wet shaving? I have doing it off and on for almost a year and just now got serious about the whole thing. I am using a Merkur razor currently but have been seriously pondering a vintage razor to add to the collection. I was wanting to get a concensus on 2 that I have been eyeing for sometime.
1. Gilette Knack circa 1968
2. Gilette WW1/WW2 era razor can't remember the details on this one.

Thanks for helping the new guy.

I will check it out. I saw these on a site called Revamp. For noob that is trying to start off where would I go to get a good deal and what is recommended. I don't want to make the purchase and regret it later on.

I like antique stores and flea markets, but you'll need to know pricing. Deals can be had but rip-offs as well. The BST is probably the best place to ensure a reasonable or better deal on vintage razors. I recently picked up a knack but cleaned it and put it away without trying it (on accident, you just reminded me). As for the others there were several razors made between WW1-2 but I haven't used a Gillette yet that gave an awful shave except for the psycho.

May I suggest a gillette new open comb short. Easy to find, not going to break the bank. The shave is fantastic.

Can't go wrong with these recommendations. A Gillette New or Tech are both relatively inexpensive and neither one is too aggressive.

I have been collecting vintage Gillette razors for a while now and there are very few that I haven't liked. I have been meaning to pick up a knack but haven't done it yet. They seem to be readily available and are usually under $20. It should be an excellent razor in which to shave. The other one you mentioned should be good too. I say go for it.

If I were you, I'd do some searching and reading before buying anything from the Revamp / Razor Emporium folks.
Entirely your call of course, but do yourself a favor and read before you commit.

Can we have a photo of your vintage Gillette please.?

In that period, they made some astonishingly good open combs.
I have a Made In England NEW LC (1930s) and it's about as good as they get
