GILETTE RAZORS SOLD IN THE USA ARE MAKING ME BREAK OUT (HELP NEEDED)

Hello, basically i came from Pakistan and i used the same gilette blades there, no irritation. Especially gilette blue 3.

Now when i am here in the US, they do not sell any gilette blue 3 here. So i kept using other razors of their and for some reason, it still kept breaking me out after every shave.
After some research, i found that the razors in US have a strip called lubrastrip that releases gel everytime you do a stroke. and that gel is made up of polyethylene glycols (PEG) and its a petroleum based compound that holds moisture.
And i am extremely sensitive to vaseline which is also petroleum jelly. Thus i am confirmed that its the lubricating strips making me break out.

Does anyone here have any recommendation of razors that do not have a lubricating strip?

Also, i do have a rockwell 6C razor but sometimes it doesn't give that closest shave you need. My first pass is always with a safety razor and my side ways passes are using a disposable razors. It gives that 100% shave but unfortunately, those disposable razors are making me break out.

Does anyone have any recommendation for razors without lubrication strips? thank you

Hi and Welcome :)

I can't help with your particular query I'm afraid.

But why not use your Rockwell DE for the horizontal and other passes, ie the whole shave? That's the way to do it.

In US I believe "Boldking" is the Defender razor. If you want to use a cartridge razor it's the best of the modern ones, in my opinion, and there is no lube strip. Or, shave less expensively with a DE razor and learn the technique.

Also, your "breakouts" might really be ingrown hairs. I'm not a dermatologist, but when I used multi-blade cartridge razors in the past, I used poor shaving technique and used too much pressure when shaving, which cut a number of the hairs below the skin, causing ingrowns. You might try using a lighter touch when shaving.

I suggest a light touch because for the last week I have been testing a Schick Hydro 5-blade cartridge to see how many uses I can get from it. These carts used to give me a lot of ingrown hairs. The past week I have shaved with it very successfully without ingrowns, and I think this is because of better shaving technique.

If you don’t mind being 2 blades only, there’s the Gillette good news with no lubrastrip.
They are called the "Blue II" now and sold with or without the lube strip.

Another option is the Bic metal with one blade or the deuce with two blades. That being said if you can get a good shave with the Gillette or Bic than you should be able to get a good shave with a DE IMO because the head doesn't pivot.

If your really desperate you can overnight soak a new razor and then scrape or peel off the lube strip in the morning.

Get rid of the cartridge razors, practice with your DE and eventually your problem will be solved.
