Razor: English Flat Bottom Tech No.77 Set (Included Blade T1 Date Code) 1948
Blade: Ladas Super Stainless (3)
Cream: Proraso Red
Brush: Wilko Synthetic 'El Superbe'
AS Balm: Nivea Sensitive
Pretty sure this is a No 77 1948 Tech set.
I picked it up about 2 years ago. I think it was 20 quid.
It has the domed lidded bakelite case and the 2 blade banks, and there were 3 blades. Maybe 2 are used.
I had previously opened one of the blades at random and yep, T1 date code. The set appears almost unused, or maybe the owner didn't like Gillette blues. Mine was a bargain, 5/6.
Thats 5 shillings and sixpence. Just under a $1 in 1948 prices. There were 20 shillings to the £1 pre 1971.
The usual deceptively mild but ultra-efficient FBT shave on a pesky 3 day growth.
3 carefree passes nuked it. Lovely, faultless shave resulting in a SSF result
Always a pleasure.
