What's new

Vietnam wall

First click on a state. When it opens, scroll down to the city and the names will appear. Then click on their names. It should show you a picture of the person, or at least their bio and medals.

This really is an amazing web site. Someone spent a lot of time and effort to create it.

I hope that everyone who receives this appreciates what those who served in Vietnam sacrificed for our country.

The link below is a virtual wall of all those lost during the Vietnam war
with the names, bio's and other information on our lost heroes. Those who remember that timeframe, or perhaps lost friends or family can look them up on this site. Pass the link on to others if you like.

When I was a kid, my elderly neighbor's grandson used to come visit quite often. I was just starting elementary school and he was in college at West Point. He would pitch baseballs to me, play catch or just sit on the stoop and talk with me. I thought that he was the coolest guy in the world. He was killed in combat as a 1st Lt when he was only 23. Now I'm old enough to be his dad.

I've looked for his name on the Wall in DC before, but I could never find it. This is the first time I've read an account of what happened to him. Thank you very much for posting this.

Wow. Seeing so many names from my city really makes me think. I'm going to post this site to my facebook wall to share with friends.

Very cool. I saw the wall when I was about 10-12, would love to get back there in a few years when my kids get a little older.

They have directory books there now so that you can look up names. My visit there was at night. It felt like I was walking into a tomb.

I know what you mean spindlecone!!! Since I saw this thread and
went to the site, there has been little else that I have thought of today..
The memories, both good and bad have come flooding back...With all
honesty, I don't know if I would be strong enough to go to the wall in
person...it is hard enough to see it on the screen...A big thank-you again
for this thread and wall site STEVE.....Sometimes it is hard to remember,
but I would do it all over again. God Bless to all of you still with us and
to those who have gone ahead.
