Victory branded Flat Bottom Tech?

Hey guys,

I took a risk and bid on a "Victory" stamped flat bottom Tech.

Anyone familiar with war time (or just after the war) Gillette one-offs? Would appreciate some help identifying.

Looks to be in pretty grummy condition, but I'm hoping it's just caked-on soap scum. I've taken worse condition razors back to shiny shiny:

The handle looks identical to those used on flat bottom News. Baseplate more or less identical to my 40's English Service Set Tech. Maybe the center portion between slots a hair wider.

I'm hoping it's a commemorative English Tech. Worst case scenario, it's a Japanese Feather made homage.

Hard to tell with all the scum!

The baseplate pin slots look much shorter than the early to late 40s Gillette FBs, they're almost the same length as the cap pins.

It doesn't look like plated brass tbh, more like the aluminium or potmetal of gov contract Gillettes.

Post pics when you've cleaned it up, it's a super interesting razor. Nice score

Thanks! Will do a deep clean/polish when I get it.

The seller described it as brass but otherwise not responsive and no further pictures.

Apologies, but this curiousity have to come to an end.

Met an unscrupulous seller who asked for more money after I already paid. Interesting razor for sure, but I have no patience for such people.

For what it's worth, razor is stamped Victory 1945 and what appears to be something along the lines of A(m?)W on the top left corner. Much worse condition than I expected too!

Outrageous. If it is on Ebay I would report the seller.
This is not a Gillette razor most probably. It is an imitation made by another company. Look at the shape of that upper right oval.
I doubt that is brass too.
