VDH knot size

Does anyone know what the knot size is for the cheap VDH boar brush that you can buy from your local walmart?

I was thinking about picking one up for cheap and then boring out the boar hair knot so I could replace it with a silvertip knot from the goldennib.

When I reknotted my VDH handle with a 22mm there was some wiggle room. Now I am not an expert on this so I don't know if its supposed to be like that or not. But you probably could go up to a 23mm with no problem.

I got a 24mm silvertip from GN in a VDH handle, but I had to scrape out the inside with a small sheepsfoot blade to get it in. The knot reciever was probably 0.5 mm too small, and the base of my 24mm knot was arount 23.5mm, although they vary. The 22's do have some wiggle room, but not too much. Probably about a mm or so depending on the size of the base.

I put in the 24mm boar bristle from Golden NIB, I has to sand the hole out a bit to make it fit good. It is funny that I spent more money on the knot than I did on the brush.
