What's new

used blades, what do you do with them?

i know many people on here are "thrifty" so i figured there would be somebody that used their used se/de blades for something, as they are still quite sharp.

I eat them. Every one needs a little roughage in their diet.

I simply add them to my blade bank i got from WCS for $1.00.

I trash them in a blade bank I made. Only on the long occasional moment I will us an old one to cut open wrapped items.

I don't have a use for them. I'll make them last as long as possible, but when they don't shave anymore, I toss them. I can't think of anything I could use them for that wouldn't be better or more easily accomplished with something else. When I change blades, I throw the old ones in a blade bank I made from a Barbasol can.

I sometimes use them to open new boxes of new shaving supplies that come in the mail

Opening packages has never been neater, although you have to be real careful as both sides of the blade is sharp.

this made me laugh, kind of looks like a face. like it's talking.

I frame them with a few words about the shave for that day.

Best response so far, lmao!

I put them back in their sleeves then throw them away. I should just cut a hole on the top of a plasic bottle and start putting them in there.

What i will probably do is make a blade bank out of an old coffee can or something.

I put them in one of these:

Yes, I had RBBAD (Razor Blade Bank Acquisition Disorder) at one time and bought a dozen of these from WCS for about a buck apiece. It's a good thing that it takes about two years to fill one of them up.

I had the same question myself. I stumbled onto a Youtube video or website somewhere where a bright fellow showed how to make your own decorative blade bank out of an old soup can. Might help those suffering from RBBAD, assuming you eat soup on occasion. Even if you don't, the cheapest can of soup with no particulates (e.g. tomato soup) can be purchased for < $1.00. But I do like the idea of using them to open packages of shaving supplies. Seems appropriate.
