What's new

used a shave stick for the first time today

It is quite a big change from bowl lathering. I had a good lather for the first two passes then it started to thin out. I guess I should have loaded my face a bit more. I used an older formulation LEA stick. Next I plan on trying the new formulation LEA with lanolin then I will save the best for last and try my Speick stick.

Just tried my Arko stick for the first time yesterday. I loved it. Only did 2 passes, but it was a great shave.

I throw in a face lather once in a while using a home made stick made out of VDH luxury unscented that I added a little essential oil to for custom scent. It has it's place in my rotation, but I'll never be a full out convert to mostly exclusive face lathering. Course, I've never tried any of the sticks designed for face lathering, yet, either... lol

Shave sticks are great. As is face lathering. As is bowl lathering (I love the piles of whipped creamy lather, just not to eat). You can, of course, face lather with any soap or cream, not just a stick..

I predict that you will love Speick.

I already love the scent, just haven't got around to trying it.

Woo-hoo, welcome to the shave stick club! If you want pure, shave-stick lather goodness (and/or Arko scares you), go for Valobra!

w00t! I just started with a shave stick myself. I'm using Speick. I'm into my third shave now, and I'm pretty happy. I rub that sucker nice and well all over my beard and get plenty of product on and then attack it vigorously with a Simpson Duke 2, dipping it frequently in water. That seems to be the key, and the lather is great! I like the shave stick. :)
