Unprecedented Service from Brian Brown

I have to take a moment and share my recent experience with Brian Brown. I purchased a BB custom from B/S/T and contacted Brian to inquire about changing the scales to make it more to my specifications. Brian asked that I send the razor back to him and he would rescale, hone and make it as if it has just left his shop brand new. Furthermore, after speaking with Brian, he polished the razor since he knew I would be traveling and the appearance of the razor would hold-up better. Additionally, Brian took the time to educate me on honing and caring for my new BB straight. In the mail I received my new to me straight along with a strop. Brian is a class act and I am proud to have a BB custom razor as my first straight. I can't say enough about the experience and the level of support he provides for his product. Thank you again Brian for all of your help!

Brian's a great guy, his razors are awesome, and his helpfulness is outstanding.

And that's one heck of a cool looking razor.

Brian is definitely a class act! He is all about helping customers and making sure the razor they get is exactly what they want.

beautiful razor!!! though I do dig the swiss cheese scales too :)

i'll definitely be adding a BB razor ( or 2) to the collection one of these days!

enjoy!

I have not seen a BB razor I didn't like. I prefer the look of them to other customs that are double the price. I'd like to contact him eventually because I'm originally from Franklin, TN and I really want to support a fellow middle Tennessean.

Nice to see Brian took care of ya, not at all surprising though. He's a great guy to deal with.

Love the new look.

I have to totally agree with you Tx. I ordered a razor from Brian and it started with a line drawing I sent him from my iPad. After dozens of emails from me and a whole bunch of phone calls, (he never complained that I was a PIA although I was, and he ALWAYS accommodated me) this is the finished product.

Not only is the razor beautiful but functional. Feels great in my hand(s), well balanced and the steel he uses makes for the best shave of any of my razors. That's from new ones to the old Sheffields, German steel and others. I call him the Chip Foose of razors. Here's his site. I at least owe him that.

Brian Brown is a really great guy to deal with. I have known him for a while now, and every interaction with him has been a pleasant one. He really does take care of his customers - something that I really value. Also, his prices are very reasonable.

All round, he comes highly recommended.

Ditto on all the acolades. In dealing with him you can tell the money is secondary to his desire to allow his customers to afford to own a one of a kind, truly custom made razor that will out last their owner

Fellows, I also have the great pleasure of owning a Brian Brown creation. If razors could sing this fellow would definitely be a bass, although one with the abilities to rise up and cut into the lowest baritone notes with ease when duty calls. I have always enjoyed the sheer pleasure of the 19th century wedges and Brian ran with this one, passed it onto me and I will never let it go.

He blended the concept of a fairly square point with a beefy 6/8 semi-wedge and wrapped his vision all around a dense piece of laminated japanese white paper steel hagane slipped between two pieces of juicey softer wrought iron jigane. Instead of rigid defined jimps he tapped in a stepping stone pattern of divots as a reminder rather than a demand. The scales are as ultimately modern as the steel is ancient in concept.

I would never call this a weapon (although in effect I just did), but this is an animal-feels thrilling-looks overbearing-is like nothing else I own-it almost drives itself-is too close to take for granted. Brian, you nailed it.

A very tasty and a fresh addition to my quiver of various blades by the various makers. This one will always stand alone.
thanks much, Alx
