Ultimate Travel Brush

Which is your best travel brush purely in terms of performance?

I normally face lather with a shave stick these days and I think that it's the Simpsons Major for me so far. Somehow, however, I think there might be something better out there for my purposes.

I've had several over the years including wee scot, case, and duke 1

Now I have a Muhle synthetic with a 19mm knot.

I like:
1. Simpsons case - a great smaller simpsons face latherer
2. Omega 11047 mighty midget-big performance in a little brush
Both fit in simpsons case tube.
Or
3. Simpsons wee scot in pill bottle
For a really tiny travel solution

EDIT: On the cheap another great option is the Omega #40033 "wide waist"midget. I keep one of these at my GFs apartment. Is an awesome little boar face latherer. Runs $4-5. Takes awhile to get the funk out, but otherwise superb.

My vote is for the Classic 1 2-band. Mark still had a few in stock when I ordered last month. I have a Muhle v2 custom travel brush as well that I'm not impressed by in the slightest.

My best travel brush is the Muhle synthetic. Mine is 23mm and is the Classic model. It dries extremely fast, performs as good as my badger or boar brushes, and feels great on my face.

FYI, the photo is not of my brush - although it looks the same - but came from the Muhle website.

away from home, ive been using my Case exclusively for the last 2 weeks. strongly considering making it my everyday brush. it's neat, nimble and no lather-hog - qualities i appreciate.

Depending upon how (and for how long) I am travelling, I will use any one of a number of brushes. If it is vacation, I tend to move towards luxury and take something larger but when on a short business trip a medium-sized brush and a shave stick does the job.

I bought a Muhle Synthetic Turnback brush. Works great in either face or bowl applications. Packs really small and light. Pretty much maintenance free and reasonalbly priced too.
This is the brush I will be taking to Europe next month along with a tub of Cella.

Muhle HJM black fibre brush ($25 delivered, Connaught). Works great on the full range of my many soaps. But then, it's the main brush I use at home, too.

+1 Very elegant solution and the fibers dry EXTREMELY fast. This is an important attribute when you are shaving and packing everything up right after you're done. Natural hair brushes, especially the Mighty Midget boar I used for travel, will end up getting packed away when they are still wet. Then you need to open up your travel kit when you're home to let the brush completely dry.

I have never owned a real Silvertip brush but I don't think I would have know that the Muhle wasn't natural if I didn't already know it.

A Omega 90065, dries quickly and performs well enough, cheap enough so that it wouldn't be a catastrophe if I lost it. Paired with a Merkur 933cl (with feather blades) that also performs well enough, hard to cut oneself on.

I like my Simpsons Classic 1 in best badger. It's my second travel brush replacing an AOS pure badger brush which wasn't bad but it was tough to face lather with it. I'm really enjoying the classic 1. The other nice feature is it fits in the Simpsons travel case.

For travelling I'm now using a Simpson Duke 2 Best. It's unquestionably one of my favourite brushes.

Dirty Donuts are so Good.
Muhle Synthetic 19mm with Faux Horn (looks more tortise than horn) Handle. Dries in minutes, then back in the pill bottle. :)

I'm on the road almost 4 weeks a month. Now, at the Chicago comic con, C2E2, finishing a 9 day business trip. I had been using an EJ badger travel brush, but I was never happy with it. I decided to take my new B&B Green boar brush, and it has been terrific. It is definitely my travel brush now. it just gets better with each use.I bought a Parker travel case to protect it. This trip I have been using GFT Violet Shave Cream and a WCS Hand Thrown Lather Bowl. But there is a brand new Dirty Bird Travel Scuttle waiting for me at home.

You should post a review of your Simpson Major some time! I doesn't get a lot of review love since many people find it too expensive for the size of the knot.

I think the turnback handle is beautiful in an "engineering solution" sort of way though so I love the looks.

My travel brush is my Simpson KH3, I put it in a little plastic tube Rudy Vey gave me.
