TTO tech?

i thought that the tech was made as a three peice razor for easy storage during WWII and afterwards. never made as a TTO. i was looking at vintage gillettes on the bay and saw, what i believe to be a gillette slim (did i mention it's adjustable?) . but in the questions it has a guy claming that it's a TTO tech. thoughts? comments? complaints?

k. so they did make TTO techs (just not what they call tech as a standalone) however, none of these are adjustable. and also, where these called techs as sufix only, E.G. superspeed FLAIR TIP or was it actually part of the name as part of the name?

I think "Tech" was describing the new style safety bar in the beginning.

so, tech is the type of razor, and then there was the model which was the actual razor, then they came out with the tech razor which would be the "tech tech?"

The solid guard bar was the new technology and comes 1938/39 with the "Tech" razor. When they change the TTO razors from open comb to this new technology they called these razors "Tech" + the model name. When they stop with open comb, they call all TTO only with the model name

The early TTO Techs and the later 3-piece Techs share a name, but nothing else.
Most of the nicknames we use to differentiate superspeeds (flare tip, fatboy, etc.) are all creations of modern collectors, they weren't used by Gillette.
