What's new

Tried some locally made soap

It's called Baby Face by Tabloid, LLC (a local barber where I live).

I'm usually a tallow guy, but this is a very good, inexpensive, simple glycerine based soap with a slight lilac scent.

Good shave, and I'm a tabac man, so it's hard to please me =o)

They sell it on ebay, but I live close to the barber so I just grabbed it there.
It's very clean, doesn't clog my DE razor at all, so it's great for blade life.

I searched on eBay for Baby Face shave soap and came up with nothing. A search for an eBay seller tabloid only found an inactive seller from Italy. Any more info? If there's an eBay buy it now, a link can be posted.

This is the salon: http://www.tabloidsalon.com

Owner (Tom) is a pretty cool dude, gave me the best haircut I've ever had and he is very experienced in the art of shaving, been doing it 20+ years.

He's got some other products, too (shave lotion, hair stuff, etc..) Maybe I should tell him to advertise here on B&B :001_smile

There is a red link to the right on their home page that usually links to their ebay store, but it's not working right now. It was literally up yesterday.

You could call/email the shop and I'm sure they can help you order it.
Really cool place...they have a full band/recording studio in back and they do that between cuts, I swear LOL

The babyface soap is light, lathers easily, rinses easily, and is great to have in the rotation when you want a less, dare I say, "greasy" shave, but still plenty slippery.
Lilac scent is subtle.

You got very lucky, as the vast majority of the so called shaving soaps sold on the Bay are total garbage. :mad3:

The site is just slow, they have a few on ebay now.
Oddly they call it a lather rather than a soap or cream.

I sent an email for an ingredient list.

Here you go-

Babyface is a high quality
glycerin soap with lilac fragrance. The
ingredients are: Propylene Glycol, Sorbitol,
Glycerin, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate,
Triethanolamine, Water, Titanium Dioxide, Lilac
essential oil, color.
