Tried Arko

I got a stick of Arko from a fellow member (thank you!) and I just have to say this stuff is smaller than I thought (it's pretty cool). I opened it up and it's an odd scent. Not great, not bad. Quite honestly, this scent will seriously bother me on some days, but on other days I will really enjoy the scent. I already shaved today but figured I'd a basic WTG shave. The one thing I can say is this stuff lathers like a beast. I will use this when I have no time for other soaps as it's super quick to use.

On another note, I used the horse hair brush and it really worked fantastically with this soap. It seems like I always have bad luck as I opened the cabinet to put everything away and the Tabac bar falls right into the sink. I'm a person that just hates when stuff like that happens, it just annoys me to no end  Well, I think it's a sign from the Tabac God's that I need to use it again...I can't, though, I still want to try the AOS Rose and Fraser cream.

All in all? The scent does not ruin it for me. It is pretty strong I find, but quite honestly there is nothing wrong with it. It's like the Barbasol of shaving soaps I find, and I'll use this somewhat frequently, based on if I wake up later or am lazy that day. The rotation is quite big so I definitely will be having periods of liking one soap/cream over another. I'm glad I didn't use this stuff earlier, because if I had to use this everyday in August I KNOW I would have gotten sick of it. The scent is not an everyday scent for me. I think I need to rotate based on days. Or...not

The scent will fade some. First time I tried it I didn't like the scent at all now that it's faded I actually enjoy it.

I got moves like Jagger
By the time you're finished your stick, it will have grown on you so much that you'll miss it when it's gone.

It's good stuff, just not an everyday scent (like Tabac). It'll be high on the list to use though.

Every time I travel Arko goes in my DOPP. I know that it will be a lather monster in hard or soft water and one of the few soaps that will lather in water that scares the other soaps into grabbing the bowl lid and slamming id down like "thing did on the Adams family"

Glad it worked for you Zack! That stick was around 5 months old (and just stored in the box), so may not reflect the full-on Arko smell experience, but it should have been close. I could still smell it pretty well through the package :). Welcome to the club!

Thank you James! I opened it and the smell just burst out, so I think it was VERY well contained! Thank you again, it's really great!

Zack,

I think you will be amazed at how dramatically the scent will fade in a few weeks. What will be left is a mild, clean scent and a soap stick that will lather like crazy.
When I first unwraped Arko I was taken back by the strong scent. It quickly dissipates.
I think you grow to love it more and more as time goes by.

That's good! I think it needs to be aired out a little bit, but it's a great soap that's for sure! I rubbed it on my face and I was a bit skeptical on if it would work. Boy, did it work

Used it again. Once again, great lather, smell has already aired out some. Good stuff for sure! I did a WTG so I barely removed anything; tomorrow is AOS rose. After I go back to Tabac! Still can't believe I had the puck fall into the sink while putting my brush away last night (I had to wipe off the paper from it) Oh, what bothers me

Lathers well, smells like hell!

I have to keep it in a ziplock so that it won't perfume the shave den. I can deal with the smell when shaving, but having it scent the room, even from inside a coolest is annoying. So in the bag it goes!

The scent reminded me of Lemon Pledge or the Lemon Head drops, which I liked as much as the Lather it produced... the problem for me was a dry face afterward.

Happened to me, too, but not so badly that it's an annoyance.

Williams? Sure...but I have SO much other soaps and creams!

The annoying part was the slight redness which accompanied the dryness, and since I have other soaps & creams I prefer I don't miss it too much. BTW, The Suds & Sparkles Lemongrass is more of a Natural Lemon peel scent, far better than the synthetic Arko Lemon scent.

Arko's scent lingers on me, that may be kind of annoying. I got some Palmolive bath soap, and man that stuff smells good! I wonder if their shave stick has a similar scent?

Here we part!! I use Tabac every now and then but the scent is something I can stand one day and not tolerate the next. Arko's scent however, though simple and even a bit brutal, is something I could shave with every day without any problem.
